Nevada domestic partnership registration began on Monday.  The new legislation will take effect in October.  More than 150 signed up the first day.  Read more and see a video below.

Nevada now joins the ranks of 16 other states who have enacted legislation creating a contractual relationship between cohabitating couples.  Those in Nevada who pre-register now, may receive their certificates as early as October 1st.  This will apply to both same-sex and heterosexual couples.  Those who obtain the certificate will receive “the same rights, protections, benefits, responsibilities, obligations and duties” of married couples.
